On Monday 22 January 1906, William Wain, my great grandfather and Bertha Taylor, my great grandmother were married in the Parish Church, Milton, Staffordshire.
Unfortunately, the right hand side has been cropped, but the rest of the information is clear.
The marriage certificate states:
William Wain, age 28, bachelor, farm labourer of Rudyard, Leek
Father – Isaac Wain
Bertha Taylor, age 20, spinster of Milton
Father – John Herbert Taylor
Witnesses: George Henry Taylor (Bertha’s brother) and Julia Taylor (Bertha’s sister)
I am descended through:
- their son, William Wain (1909-1957) who married Freda Hassall (1909-1974) in 1936
- their son, John Stanton Wain (1937-) who married Sheila Hooley (1938-) in 1958
- Judith Yvonne Wain (1958-)
