Ann Swettenham is my 3rd great grandmother and I am descended through:
- her daughter Sarah Ann Alcock (1846-1921) who married William Hassall (1844-1918)
- their son Rupert John Hassall (1878-1942) who married Drucilla Hudson (1877-1936)
- their daughter Freda Hassall (1909-1974) who married William Wain (1909-1957)
- their son John Stanton Wain who married Sheila Hooley
- Judith Yvonne (Wain) Westhoff
Ann was born in Swinscoe, Staffordshire and she was baptised on 14 April 1822 in St Bartholomew's, Blore Ray, Staffordshire

I have not been able to find a census for this year. Anne's mother was a widow and living in Swinscoe village with her daughters Hannah and Harriet. Anne's brother Walter was living in Fenton and their sister Agnes was living with him. Ann may have also been in the Fenton area, as this is where Thomas Alcock, who she later married was living, but it is purely speculation.
