I thought it might be interesting to look at some of the events in the "Trees" which occurred on or near today's date.
The first is the marriage of George Gabb and Ann Hemmings, which took place on 15 November 1866 at Christ Church, Crewe, Cheshire.
Ann Hemmings is my 3rd great aunt.
Common ancestor: John Hemmings and Sarah Rhead who are my 3rd great grandparents and the parents of Ann
The transcription reads:
George Gabb, age 30, bachelor, fitter, residing in Crewe
Father: George Matthew Gabb, Smith
Ann Hemmings, age 24, residing in Crewe
Father: John Hemmings, labourer
Witnesses: William Craig Davidson (possibly a friend of George, he was also a fitter) and Hannah Hemmings (sister of Ann)
